The mint of Georres is identified with Puebla de Valdeorras (Ourense), located at the natural passage between the Meseta and Galicia and mentioned in the Antonine Itinerary as one of the twenty-two towns under the jurisdiction of the conventus Asturicensis. The toponym derives from the Cigurros tribe. During the Visigothic period, it minted coins under the reigns of Reccared I, Witteric, Gundemar, Sisebut, and Suinthila.
