This nearly triangular lead plate fragment displays the impression of an obverse die used for coins from the Nertobis mint, specifically of type ACIP 1601. It features a beardless male head facing right, adorned with a necklace, and flanked by two dolphins. A study conducted by P. P. Ripollès, G. Cores Uría, and M. Gozalbes Fernández de Palencia in 2017 concluded that this fragment meets the criteria for classification as a die trial. This assertion is supported by several factors: the impression was made using an original die corresponding to known monetary types, the fragment is in superior condition compared to known coins, and it exhibits relief and module characteristics consistent with those of a die.
